Digital Tools for Research

There are many tools out there to help you track and find research. Use the links below or at the left to learn more about each of these tools, and how they can help you with your own research.

DOI
A DOI is a Digital Object Identifier. It is a persistent and unique identification number assigned to resources that will help you find them online.
ORCID
ORCID provides a persistent digital identifier (an ORCID id) that you own and control, and that distinguishes you from every other researcher.
PURLs or Permalinks
A PURL, or permalink, is a link that connects directly to an article or book without having to go through TWUniversal or the TWU library website to a database.
