He specializes in Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy. He manages the Interlibrary Loan for Houston and is happy to help you with your loans. He usually works 10AM -7PM M-Th, and 8-5 Fridays.
Librarian Marilyn Goff, MLS, AHIP supervises the ARC and specializes in College of Business, Health Care Administration, Library Studies, Nursing, Nutrition and Food Sciences, and is available to help faculty, staff, and students. She is a certified medical librarian at the Distinguished level of the Academy of Health Information Professionals of the Medical Library Association. She takes appointments and walk-in requests and is happy to help you define your research topics, find great information, learn APA and other styles, get published, and more. She usually works 8-5 M-F.
Mr. Charles Fischer is the Library Assistant who will help you find books and journal articles, locate the best databases for your research and projects, and to help you find all the information you need to make the best grades and get your efforts understood! Call him at 713.794.2485 for help.
We have Ms Hilary Reeves, an excellent undergraduate nursing student as our first Student Assistant in Houston's ARC, Friendly and cheerful, she is here to help you find your textbooks, items on reserve, watch videos to improve clinical skills, show you additional study materials you can check out, and more!
Our Graduate Research Assistant position has Ms Rida Ahmad, who is a MOTS. Responsible for Saturday operation of the ARC, she is glad to help you find reserve and other materials in reserves and in all subjects taught at Houston.
Ms. Marlene Engel (NURS) works to help students find the research items they need, helps you check headphones, chargers, and other materials in and out, helps you with the nap pod and more. She can help you with the study room reservations, NCLEX books and to find the information you need to succeed!
Located at the Houston Center, 6700 Fannin, the Academic Resource Center is in room 4132, just behind the mega computer lab. We support Business, Health Care Administration, Library Science, Nursing, Nutrition and Food Sciences, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and other departments at the Houston campus.
Come watch a video, borrow a Chrome book, headphones or reserve the study room! We do have a limited number of your current textbooks for all-semester to a two hour loan. Come use the paper cutter and pencil sharpeners. Get help finding useful information.
Come check out one of your faculty's personal Departmental collection of books. Check out standardized tests (NCLEX, HESI, OT, PT and other) study books, testing and training videos to keep you sharp!
Please know that Houston Reserve Items may not be requested through Inter Library Loan (ILL).
TWU Libraries, in conjunction with the Student Union, Student Services and Student Life, have a nap pod for you to use for 20 minute power naps in the ARC. Former ARC Library Student Assistant and MOTS Ms Kristen McManus demostrates the nap pod use.
