rslattery@twu.edu  Ryan has his Masters in Library and Information Science and can help you with your need to find great articles, books, research, streaming videos and more so your presentations and papers will help you to great success! He specializes in Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy. He manages the Interlibrary Loan for Houston and is happy to help you with your loans. He usually works 10AM -7PM M-Th, and 8-5 Fridays.

Librarian Marilyn Goff, MLS, AHIP supervises the ARC and specializes in College of Business, Health Care Administration, Library Studies, Nursing, Nutrition and Food Sciences, and is available to help faculty, staff and students. She is a certified medical librarian at the Distinguished level of the Academy of Health Information Professionals of the Medical Library Association. She takes appointments and walk-in requests and is happy to help you define your research topics, find great information, learn  APA and other styles, get published,  and more. She usually works 8-5 M-F.

Library Assistant Charles Fischer

Mr. Charles Fischer is the Library Assistant who will help you find books and journal articles, locate the best databases for your research and projects, and to help you find all the information you need to make the best grades and get your efforts understood! Call him at 713.794.2485 for help.

Distinguished Scholar Volunteers

Distinguished Scholar Ms Amy Qiao, is a respected nurse from the city of Jinan, in Shumdong province in China. A managing nurse at Qiarfoshar Hospital, Amy is married and has a 7 year old son, Mike. Her special studies this year at Texas Woman's University at Houston permitted her to graciously volunteer to work in the Academic Resource Center the summer of 2017, where she helped many and is writing a paper about her experiences here.

Houston ARC

Located at the Houston Center, 6700 Fannin, the Academic Resource Center is in room 4132, just behind the mega computer lab. We support Business, Health Care Administration, Library Science, Nursing, Nutrition and Food Sciences, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy,  and other departments at the Houston campus.

 

Come watch a video! Reserve a study room! We do have a limited number of your current textbooks for two hour loan. 

Come check out one of your faculty's personal Departmental collection of books. Check out standardized tests (NCLEX, HESI, OT, PT and other) study books, testing and training videos to keep you sharp!

Please know that Houston Reserve Items may not be requested through Inter Library Loan (ILL).

 

Student Assistants

We have Ms Hilary Reeves, an excellent undergraduate nursing student  as our first Student Assistant in Houston's ARC here to help you find your textbooks, items on reserve, watch videos to improve clinical skills, show you additional study materials you can check out, and more!       

                                                                                                                                                                 

 Our second Student Assistant is Ms Quan Nguyen, MOTS who offers friendly and supportive library research assistance.

 

 

  

Graduate Research Assistant Ms. Maryam Shakouri (NURS) works Saturdays and through the week to help extend the availability of the ARC resources to you!   She has good library research skills to help you find research articles, scan College of Business books, watch great review videos, locate your textbook and more.

Take a Nap!

TWU Libraries, in conjunction with the Student Union, Student Services and Student Life,  have a nap pod for you to use for 20 minute power naps in the ARC.Former ARC Library Student Assistant and MOTS Ms Kristen McManus demostrates the nap pod use. Reserve the nap pod at  http://libguides.twu.edu/c.php?g=539688&p=3973003.Click on the Houston nap pod button, and you can have a 20 minute power nap to enjoy peaceful, restful sleep.

New library shelving was installed during Spring Break 2018 to give your ARC a fresh, more accessible layout.
