Theses & Dissertations in print

We have a collection of printed theses and dissertations on the Third Floor of the library.

Titles are organized first by year, then by author. The theses and dissertations we have in print are those written by TWU graduates.

However, not all theses and dissertations written by TWU graduates are available in print at our library. To find out if we have a copy, you can search our Online Catalog.

Searching for theses & dissertations

There are two ways to locate theses and dissertations:

First, you can search our Online Catalog (TWUniversal). The best way to find a TWU thesis or dissertation in print is to search specifically by title or author.

Second, you can search Dissertations and Theses at Texas Woman's University to find TWU theses and dissertations available fulltext.

As a general rule, you only should be looking for theses and dissertations if you know specifically the author(s) and title(s) you want.

Not finding the thesis or dissertation you need?

If you are looking for a thesis or dissertation from another university that is not available online through the Dissertation Abstracts Online & ProQuest Digital Dissertations database, you have several options:

1. Contact our Interlibrary Loan (ILL) department to see if they can obtain it for you. You will need to submit your request online through the ILLiad Document Delivery system. (If you don't already have an account, you will be prompted to make one.) Before contacting ILL, please make sure that the thesis or dissertation you need is not available in the ProQuest database. Our ILL staff will reject all requests for theses and dissertations that can be found in our databases.

2. Try contacting the host university directly to see if they can send you a copy. Be aware that the host university may charge you fees for copying, printing, processing, shipping, etc.

3. You may be able to purchase a copy of the thesis or dissertation through the ProQuest Dissertation Express service. Prices range from around $30 to over $100 per copy.
