What is Evidence Based Practice?
A way of providing health care that is guided by a thoughtful integration of the best available scientific knowledge with clinical expertise. This approach allows the practitioner to critically assess research data, clinical guidelines, and other information resources in order to correctly identify the clinical problem, apply the most high-quality intervention, and re-evaluate the outcome for future improvement (PubMed MeSH).

What is a Controlled Vocabulary?
Organized arrangement of words and phrases used to index content and/or to retrieve content through browsing or searching. It typically includes preferred and variant terms and has a defined scope or describes a specific domain. PubMed uses MeSH subject headings, CINAHL uses CINAHL headings, some databases don't use one at all. Using the provided controlled vocabulary or subject headings will allow you to search more efficiently and precisely.
Using AND, OR, and NOT in order to better specify what you are looking for. Use AND to search for multiple unlike terms (vestibular AND rehabilitation). Use OR to look for synonyms (vestibular OR "vestibular disease" OR "vestibular diseases").
